Welcome to our department

The aim of the WG Solid Mechanics is the education of students in the basic subjects "Technical Mechanics I-III", "Technical Vibration Theory" as well as the deepening in "Continuum Mechanics" and the "Finite Element Method". The deepening serves to support the increasingly established inclusion of material nonlinearities in structural calculations in industry. And here the transition to the research topics from experiment, material modeling, identification of material parameters and simulations can be seen, with the latter topic focusing on method development.
