EU ERDF - Further development and optimization of Reinstwasserverdampfungsanlagen

Objective

The aim of the project is the development and optimization of high-purity water, which are needed for applications in the pharmaceutical industry. This includes a focus on the plant, which consists of up to ten interconnected evaporators. Also detailed is the single component, ie the single tube evaporator viewed and optimized for use with ultra-pure water.

As the former interpretation is based on experience, here is an explicit transfer of knowledge made by the university to the regional economy. Produce so-called pure water, WFI water that is used for example for the preparation of injection solutions. Such systems are directly integrated into the pharmaceutical manufacturing process and are also in this area for high technology. The high purity of the WFI water is achieved in a final manufacturing step by evaporation and re-condensing the entire amount of water.

The questions to be answered in the project are aimed at increasing efficiency of water distillation units in the areas of energy transfer, size of components and manufacturing costs from. In addition, the entire system from the points system operating conditions (pressure, temperature, flow) and facility design is considered.

In addition to modern analysis tools (flow-sheeting) to assess the overall system detailed observations of individual modules can be used with the help of modern measurement and simulation tools.
