The Förderkreis für Angewandte Mechanik was founded on December 5, 1985 with the aim of supporting young academics, in particular by
- Organizing further education seminars,
- exchanging experiences and maintaining contacts with representatives from science, technology and industry,
- publishing publications in the relevant field of teaching and research
to promote. In this respect, the association also supports competitions in the basic lectures to encourage students to deal with topics of applied mechanics. Furthermore, excursions are organized to maintain contact with industry. The activities of the alumni in particular ensure good contacts with industry. Annual lectures by alumni who work in industry provide a good insight for people at the university into the diverse opportunities available to engineers.
We encourage further interest, especially in financial support, so that young talent can be actively promoted. Membership of the association and active participation are also possible and welcome. If you have any further questions, please contact the Institute of Engineering Mechanics or Prof. Stefan Hartmann.
