Within the scope of this project, the causes of vibration excitation of fans are to be determined with the aid of numerical simulations. Unstable flow conditions with strong fluctuations in the flow variables (e.g. rotating stall), which can lead to flow-induced vibrations, occur particularly in the partial load range. The aim of the investigations is initially to validate numerical calculation approaches for predicting unsteady turbulent flows with time-resolved PIV measurements. Subsequently, the influence of geometric parameters on the dynamic behavior is investigated. This includes the determination of dynamic deformations due to aerodynamic loads.
